I haven’t met a fashionable girl yet that hasn’t fallen in love with Muleh. Including myself – and Muleh had me at hello – the first time I visited during their early years I was stunned a boutique like this existed in DC. Their selection of clothes includes scarcely found designers like Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and MM6 Martin Margiela. They also carry an extensive collection of 3.1 by Phillip Lim whom they have been stocking since his early days at Development. They have recently started carrying shoes and they are just as special and unique as the clothing – they include Tashkent by Cheyenne’s sculptural handmade shoes, the perfectly balanced pumps by Cavage and the quirky Chie Mihara. Their accessories include the stunning jewelry line by Colombian designer Paula Mendoza, the classic and highly coveted Mulberry bags as well as 3.1 Phillip Lim bags and belts that are infrequently found in stores. My relationship with Muleh has developed into a close friendship with the owners, who share my love of fashion and design. Together we have seen the surrounding neighborhood blossom into an edgy fashionable “it” place, and Muleh was there from the beginning, a rare beautiful store that we are lucky to call our own.
